spacing out premed classes.
"If you know you have tough pre-req classes as a premed, you need to space the shit out of it as much as possible over 4 years. Really try to take only one...mayyyybe two weeder classes per semester as much as you can. Sure you might be able to handle the extra work but what if the professor is an asshole? Better to have things under control than to get your ass kicked in my opinion. I didn't do a good job of this when I was an undergrad."

a "C' is not going to kill you.
"I get this question a fair bit at the end of semesters. A couple Bs and Cs are not going to keep you from getting into medical school. We don’t have time as adcoms to pick out a single bad grade. You will not probably even get asked about a C when you interview unless your interviewer is a douchebag with nothing better to do than to look over every grade you ever got. I don’t. There's a reason why AMCAS calculates BCMP GPA, Other GPA, and Total GPA itself. Now, if all your science classes are only B's and C's, you'll ideally need to think about how you can bring that GPA up.
One idea I have is that if you have a lot of weak spots in your transcript, I think it's a great idea to tutor students in those subjects. You just need to demonstrate that you're aware of any "deficiencies" and have mastered those subjects even if your grades may not demonstrate it. That, and make yourself an attractive candidate in other ways by means of tacking on more extracurriculars, etc."
